	Secured Mastercard Application Secured Cards are an excellent way to establish a positive credit history and are designed especially for people with no credit history, or who have experienced past credit problems. These cards look and work just like any other MasterCard. The only difference is that a GIC account must be established to open a secured MasterCard® account. The GIC account serves as collateral for the secured credit card. Only you and the financial institution issuing the card will know that the card is secured. The minimum credit limit for secured MasterCard is $500 and is available to all Canadians.

	Secured VISA application As stated above, secured Visa, like secured Mastercard, has all the features of a regular Visa credit card. Secured Visa is an excellent way to establish and improve your credit history and is best suited for people with no credit history, or who have experienced past credit problems. These cards look and work just like any regular Visa credit card. The credit limit is equivalent to the GIC account which serves as collateral for the secured credit card. Only you and the financial institution issuing the card will know that the card is secured. Unlike secured MasterCard, the minimum credit limit for secured Visa Card is $1,000 and is available to all Canadians except Quebec residents.
